Tom Curtis Memorial Cruise
Sunday 3rd December 2017
This was our second Anniversary Run in memory of Tom Curtis who was tragically taken from us all in December 2015. It was also a time for us to remember other members that are no longer with us. It was a great turnout at the club rooms as our cars came out in tribute to Tom. This year would take us on a different route from the club rooms, to the coast, then north and then finally east to Liz’s house in Henley Brook.
The convoy looked impressive as we took the same scenic route as last year along the coast and for most of the run we were all together one after another. The cars looked great, all polished and clean, putting on a show for all the pedestrians soaking up some sun while walking along the footpaths along the foreshore.
When we arrived, we met up with Liz’s family and friends from the Bike Club who also wanted to pay tribute to Tom. After everyone arrived and we all had a chance to meet and greet one another we gathered around the Gazebo in the backyard for a prayer and time of reflection.
A lot of people contributed to the lunch by bringing a dish to help Liz on the day. It was a great setting and the weather for the day was nice and warm.
A big thank you to everyone that contributed in the lead-up to and on the day. It was a memorable day for everyone.
If you want to view some of the footage of the day a video tribute made by Cameron Crocker has been uploaded to our club website video gallery.
This also features one of Tom’s favourite song’s “Fisherman’s Daughter” by the Waifs.
